The hard copy of my education includes, a Master’s of Science in Mental Health Counseling and Addiction Studies from Springfield College. Also, a B.A. in Communication And Psychology from the University of Southern Maine, and a MHRT/C, Mental Health Rehabilitation Technician Certificate from SMCC. In addition to being a Maine Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor-C, and a Maine Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor, I am fluent in French and available to practice in two languages.
A special area of interest is the Disease of Addiction in its true nature and presenting manifestations with alcohol, drugs, porn-cyber addiction, video gaming, food, gambling, work, lusting and vanity, or simply MORE of whatever, ad infinitum…. Therapy can be an opportunity to gently “lean -in and get progressively honest”. Therapy& treatment include choices for client engagement in their personal recovery process. It’s through this process that other issues, depression, anxiety, grief, loss and co0occuring disorders often come to light. My background includes 30+ years of group work in hospital and institutions in the Maine DOC.

Holly J. Bean, Ph. D., LCPC, CRC, CTRS, BCH
I have a working knowledge of theoretical approaches to human behavior and training in counseling techniques. My goal is to assist clients with their issues and help them explore options that will lead to beneficial outcomes. Our counseling sessions will begin with an informal intake and assessment process in which we will discuss your background and challenges. We will then move into a discussion of your needs and goals. Collaboratively, we will decide which techniques to use and carefully monitor the effectiveness of these strategies.
I take a person-centered approach to therapy and employ many different models that best mirror what the clients needs. The approaches consist of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Gestalt, Positive Psychology, Reality Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, to name a few. My practices is based on listening, discerning, and helping you find or regain your own inner strength. You, above anyone else, knows you best and I believe you have all the answers. My job is to facilitate your own exploration.
I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Therapeutic Recreation in 2009 and a dual Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling and Vocational Rehabilitation Counseling from the University of Southern Maine in 2013. I completed the required practicum and internship hours at New England Family Institute. In April 2020 I earned my PhD with the acceptance of my research on Mental Health and College Students.
If you are ready to move forward on your personal journey, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

Meredith Howe, LMFT
I believe therapy is a collaborative process where we work together to make changes. I focus on your strengths and build on them throughout the therapeutic process. I offer a safe, non-judgmental environment where we can process jointly through life’s challenges.
As a marriage and family therapist, I believe in a holistic approach where mind and body are connected. We impact each other and the environment in which we live, causing us to act and react to daily stressors.
I provide family therapy, individual therapy, couples therapy and parenting sessions for people of all ages. I have ten years of experience providing therapy to children and families with concerns including but not limited to: anxiety, trauma, attachment difficulties, ADHD, family conflicts, parenting challenges and transitions across the lifespan.
I am currently accepting new, self-pay clients. Insurance applications are in the process with developing private practice. These are the companies I will be accepting: Anthem, BCHP, Aetna, Optum (UHC, UBH, Harvard Pilgrim), Cigna and Mainecare.

Sue Wiley, LCPC
Sue received her Master’s (MA) and Education Specialist (Ed.S) degrees in Counseling Psychology from Seton Hall University. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy, with a minor in Holistic Healthcare from the University of Southern Maine. Her background and life experience in the mind-body-spirit connection is a great influence on her therapeutic approach. Her theoretical orientation is client-centered, and employs a humanistic perspective in counseling. She believes that as humans, we are equipped with the strength to face life’s challenges, but depression and anxiety can become barriers to our natural ability to overcome obstacles. At times, we can all use some guidance and support in order come through these issues. Sue’s aim as a counselor is to guide and support others to better deal with life’s challenges, and help to heal emotional wounds that inhibit success.
